1914 Jan 6 / BO / (Nude) / Chatham News of 10th / “Naked in the street—strange conduct by a strange man.” In High street, Chatham, early in the evening, “weather bitterly cold”—a naked man running up and down the street. A policeman, putting his overcoat on the man, took him to the police station. “But he was in a dazed condition and could not give any account of himself whatever.” He was sent to the Barming Asylum. “No inquiries have been made about him by any relative or friend, and the clothing which he discarded has not been found.” / In following numbers of the News, no more. Ward and George regained their health; their father died in 1921; their mother, Sarah Bennett, died at the Utica State Hospital, in 1931, (where she had been confined, since 1914); George died in 1946; and Ward died in 1971.
